Ford ranger is a double cab that can serve a lot of purpose. However, like any other vehicle, the long use of it can negatively affect its performance. Specifically, it is the maintenance of its parts that can largely affect how well it runs.
One major part of ford ranger that can sure affect its engine performance is the fuel filter. Because it takes out the residue in the fuel, it is vital to all vehicle types. With that, it prevents engine clog. Apart from that, it also enables the more efficient burning of fuel which makes the running of the car smoother and more powered.
Failure to maintain ford ranger’s or any other vehicle’s fuel filter can impose ill effects to the car’s performance as has been said. Specifically, it can hinder the flow of fuel which can make the car needing more of it in order to keep on running smoothly. To maintain the smooth running, your car’s fuel filter must be replaced regularly. However, there are some types of fuel filters that can be cleaned and reused several times.
And so, to ensure the efficient performance of your double cab of any other vehicle type, you have to replace its fuel in regular interval. And of course, you need to do it correctly. Here are the steps.
-
Get your ford ranger into a place where you can easily move around. The wide space will help you work more efficiently.
-
Relieve the system pressure. Disconnect the battery cable and unscrew the fuel lines. Locate the fuel pump fuse or relay. Put a rag on the valve for squirt of fuel. Start your ford ranger and pull the fuse out.
-
Locate the fuel filter and clean it. With ford ranger, it is usually on the right side of the vehicle. Clean both ends of the filter and remove the fuel lines connected to both ends.
-
Get the fuel filter out of the bracket. Or if possible, remove the fuel filter along with the bracket.
-
Install the new fuel filter on the bracket. The rest that you have to do is pretty much the opposite of the previous. Return the bracket with fuel filter on it on the fuel rail and then re-connect the fuel lines. Put the fuel fuse back and reconnect the battery cables.
-
To verify if you have properly replaced the fuel filter, start up your double cab.
